Horsley pleads guilty for her role in murders

Lacey Ann Horsley, 19, of Gloucester, pleaded and was found guilty in Mathews Circuit Court on Wednesday, May 27, to three felony charges in connection with her involvement in the July 2025 murder of 54-year-old Chad Wayne Ashford and 56-year-old Audrey Elaine Hudgins and its aftermath. Carol Paul Cormier, 33, of Cardinal, was sentenced in March to 48 years, five months of active incarceration, for his role in the murders, pleading guilty to two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, two counts of desecration of a body, and arson of an occupied dwelling. On May 27, Horsley pleaded and was found guilty of two counts of being an accessory after-the-fact in relation to the murders, as well as a charge of aiding in arson of a dwelling.
