Horn Harbor Marina changes hands

Horn Harbor Marina and Boatyard in Port Haywood changed hands late last month, with former owners Norm and Kris Turner selling the four-acre parcel and all its amenities to Waynie and Jeannie Hudgins of Bavon.

The facility, now named Hudgins Horn Harbor Marina, will be owned in partnership with Waynie Hudgins’s parents, Wade and Violet “Sookie” Hudgins of Bavon. The sale price for the property was $950,000.

The marina offers 63 boat slips, most of which are covered, along with pump-out services and the sale of non-ethanol gasoline and diesel fuel. Slip holders and transients also have access to a captain’s lounge and swimming pool.

The boatyard has a ship’s store with workboat supplies, a metal shop, and a wood shop, and provides hauling, sanding and painting services, with more services to be offered as time goes by.
