HORACE LEVON BONNIVILLE

Horace Levon Bonniville, age 77, peacefully passed on March 5, 2019, at his Hayes home with family by his side.

He was preceded in death by son, Ronald Bonniville; parents, Voight M. Sr. and Lesbia K. Bonniville; siblings, Maynard Bonniville Jr., Bertha B. Hogge, Ralph Bonniville and Josephine Bonniville.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Patsy J. Bonniville; son, Rodney L. Bonniville (Stephanie); daughter, Vicki M. Hurt (Noel); siblings, John T. “Jackie” Bonniville (Ruth), Jessie “Rudy” Bonniville (Judy), Kathy J. Copeland, Kenny Bonni-

ville (Linda Kay), and grandchildren, Brittany, Melanie (Brian), Whitney, Jeffery, James, John, Emily, Dylan, and Tucker; great-grandson, Riley; numerous nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Amelia Hogge.

Horace served our country as a U.S. Marine from 1961 until 1966. A retiree from the Naval Weapons Station, Yorktown, he was an Assistant Fire Chief with 37 years of service. Following retirement, he became Sergeant with Eastern State Hospital Police Department with 20 years of commitment in addition to owning H. L. Bonniville, Inc. Mr. Bonniville leaves behind a legacy of strong faith, a compassionate heart, as well as a love for family and friends.

Horace was a longtime member of Achilles Lodge No. 281, AF & AM, he served as Worshipful Master in 1990 and again in 2003; member of the Red Wing Council No. 10, Degree of Pocahontas; Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, and a member of the Tidewater Shrine Club. 

A funeral service conducted by the Rev. Richard Whiteheart will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2019, at Union Baptist Church, Achilles. Interment will follow in Gloucester Point Cemetery with military honors and Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 7, 2019, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home.

In Horace’s memory, contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, c/o Khedive Temple of the Shrine, 645 Woodlake Drive, Chesapeake, Va. 23320.
