Carla Hook of Hayes was sworn in as the York Magisterial District representative on the Gloucester County School Board on Friday. Hook was appointed to the York seat by the board on June 21 to replace Starr Belvin, who resigned effective July 1.
Hook, who was the only applicant for the appointment, will serve through Dec. 31. A York District representative elected in the November general election will take the seat on Jan. 1, 2013 to begin a four-year term. Hook is an attorney whose private practice is devoted to child welfare law.
