June 6, 7 and 8 are free fishing days in Virginia, which means you don’t need a fishing license to participate in Machicomoco State Park’s introductory fishing program on Saturday, June 7 titled “Hook, Line and Sinker.”
Participants will be taught how to cast, tie fishing knots, and hopefully catch a fish. Register by calling the front office at 804-642-2419.
Eager to get out on the water and explore a salt marsh? Call the office to register for one of the park’s Catlett Island Kayak Tours held on June 14 and 28. June 14 also features a land-based history program in honor of History and Culture weekend.
