This past week, six students from the Mathews High School Blue Devil Band participated in the VBODA All-District VIII Honor Band at Woodside High School. The students rehearsed for 10 hours for three consecutive days under the direction of Terry Austin (Symphonic Band), Robert Carroll (Concert Band) and James Reid (Middle School Band) in preparation their three concerts that occurred on Saturday, Feb. 2. Participating students were, from left, Ivar Golden (Concert Band), Cate Christopher (Symphonic Band), Jordan Sadeg (Concert Band), Toby Eskins (Symphonic Band), Hunter Owens (Symphonic Band) and Keegan Walls (Middle School Band).
