HOMER WERTMAN

A funeral service for Homer Wertman of Gloucester, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gloucester Ward, where he was a member. He died Aug. 9, 2016.

He retired from the U.S. Air Force as TSgt after 20 years and then began a second career with civil service at the Norfolk Naval Weapons Station for 15 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy Wertman, and son, Daniel J. Wertman.

Survivors include his wife, Dawna Ruth Orr Wertman; his children, James Edward Wertman of Richmond, Virginia; Rebecca Sue Browning of Anna, Texas; Howard Russell Wertman of Gloucester, and Kevin Orr Wertman of Stanardsville; his sisters, Donna Gatts Csitkovits of Lawrence, Kansas, and Nancy Ann Hawk of Massillon, Ohio; 25 grandchildren, and 36 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday at Andrews Funeral Home, Gloucester. Burial will be private.

Memorial donations may be made to the local chapter of the Salvation Army.
