Home cooking enhances circle’s author lunch

For many years this area has eagerly awaited the annual Author Luncheon sponsored by the York River Circle of The King’s Daughters and Sons, and for 2016 the waiting is almost over. On Friday, March 18 at Newington Baptist Church in Gloucester, the doors open.

The delicious lunch for which the circle is noted will be served (the menu reads hot chicken salad, congealed salad, green salad, hot rolls and pie). Then there is that magnificent table of pies, an unbelievable number of varieties from which to choose.

Following a pleasant lunch, there will be a relaxing visit with the talented author John Warley. Warley is a graduate of the Citadel and the University of Virginia Law School. He practiced law in Virginia until 1993 when he moved to Mexico to write and teach.
