Home Care Associates, LLC, a relatively new business headquartered in Gloucester, has recently partnered with Riverside Health System in its ChooseHome program.

HCA, which specializes in allowing people to retire and thrive in the comfort of their own home, offers a number of services ranging from personal care to light housekeeping and medication reminders.

Ebony Nickens, who owns the business alongside Latosha Veney, both of Newport News, said HCA officially opened in Gloucester in 2018 at a location on Main Street. The headquarters has now moved a bit south on Main Street and is located off Teagle Lane.

Nickens said the business took off, with referrals coming in the week it opened. Since then, the business has been expanding, and just recently opened another office in Urbanna to better serve clients in Middlesex and points north.

She said the company has around 50 employees, ranging from CNAs to nursing assistants to personal care aides, LPNs and RNs.
