Home care agency opens in Gloucester

3 Bridges Rural Homecare LLC opened for business Monday at the Village Trade Center on Main Street, Gloucester.

Owner Lisa Kinaitis said her staff of personal care associates will go to clients’ homes in Gloucester, Mathews, Middlesex, King and Queen, King William and Lancaster counties. Kinaitis is recruiting additional associates; all are carefully screened and given some basic personal care training, she said.

Kinaitis said her clients are those who private pay or have long-term care insurance. She is awaiting accreditation to bill through Medicare.

Before an associate is assigned to a client, Kinaitis does a home inspection to identify possible problems such as an electrical cord on which a client might slip. The aides are not allowed to provide wound care or give injections, although Kinaitis, a registered nurse, or another staff member who might have such credentials may provide such care on a 24/7 basis.
