Holy Week observances

Local community-wide observances of Holy Week date back for decades. In Gloucester, in photo above, actors depicting Jesus and a Roman centurion walked from the court circle to Newington Baptist Church on Good Friday in 2003, followed by a procession of observers who prayed and sang along the way. Below, daily services at noon at Westville Christian Church in Mathews Court House have been a tradition for many years.
