Holiday food topic of library talk

Clare Osdene Schapiro, a contributing feature writer for the Richmond Times-Dispatch, will share her experiences during a talk at 3 p.m. next Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Mathews Memorial Library. She will also share recipes for taste treats to grace the holiday table and make the holiday memorable.

Both tradition and creativity play a role in activities in the family kitchen, said a press release from library director Bette Dillehay, and linking food and tradition comes naturally to Schapiro. In a recent article, Schapiro recalled the “pleasure of observing her Czech father and English mother produce amazing food, exploring their European culinary heritage while using the thoroughly Virginian ingredients at hand.”
