Hodges, Webster to face off in November

While Virginia Democrats and Republicans will decide much of the ticket for the November general election in the coming weeks, the local race for the state legislature seat has already been set.

Candidates from both parties have already been selected for the House of Delegates’ 98th District, which includes Gloucester and Mathews counties.

Both incumbent Keith Hodges (R-Urbanna) and Democratic challenger Dr. Ella Webster of Gloucester are unopposed within their own party. Hodges has represented the 98th District since 2011. Webster ran against Hodges in 2019; Hodges won that race with 68.9 percent of the vote, while Webster garnered 31 percent.
