The final two events of the holiday season for Historic Yorktown—An Enchanted Evening on Main Street and Mistletoe Market—will be held on Friday and Saturday.
An Enchanted Evening on Main Street will be held from 5-9 p.m. Friday. The event kicks off with a performance of classic Christmas songs from the Fifes and Drums of York Town. Throughout the rest of the night, guests can make a colonial fruit ornament, enjoy a performance by the Liberty Dolls, tour the Nelson House, and listen to music from roving entertainers.
Children young and old can enjoy a festive Trolley ride and watch an ice-carving demonstration in front of York Hall. Santa Claus will also be in town to take pictures and listen to what’s on your kids’ wish lists.
Mistletoe Market will be held at Riverwalk Landing from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Browse for a variety of goodies—from soups and baked goods to holiday wreaths and local seasonal art.
Snap pictures with Santa, visit a model train exhibit, hop on the Riverwalk Landing Polar Express, and even march in the annual Toyland Parade, led by the Fifes and Drums of York Town. Listen to holiday hits from DJ Ben Herrick and watch a musical performance from Centerstage Academy.
Yorktown Market Days is always rain or shine. If it rains, the vendors and artists will move into the lower level of the parking terrace. The extra activities, however, may be canceled due to inclement weather and will not be rescheduled. Visitors are encouraged to follow Visit Yorktown’s social media accounts for all event-related changes and announcements or call the Event Weather Hotline at 757-890-3520.
The festivities continue later in the month at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, where you can learn about 18th-century holiday traditions through a variety of interpretive programs, cooking demonstrations, and musical entertainment. Christmastide in Virginia will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 20-31.
Join fellow patriots at Yorktown National Cemetery to memorialize fallen American veterans and honor those who serve during Wreaths Across America Day at noon on Saturday.
Free parking is available in several lots throughout Historic Yorktown, including on Ballard Street across from York Hall, the County Administration Building, the York-Poquoson Courthouse, and the two-level parking terrace on Water Street. Also, the free Yorktown Trolley runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
