The Fairfield Foundation lucked out to score the perfect weather between storms on Saturday for its Historic House Party at Timberneck fundraiser. Foundation supporters got the chance to tour the home (which is a part of the Machicomoco State Park in Hayes), see some artifacts, learn about the latest discoveries, as well as enjoy an evening of food and drink. The foundation raised approximately $23,000 to support the Timberneck restoration as well as other Fairfield outreach programs, according to co-director Thane Harpole.
