Historic Christ Church speaker to discuss ‘Patrick Henry: The Civic Faith of an Enlightened Patriot’

The Historic Christ Church & Museum, Weems, will welcome renowned historian Jon Kukla as the third speaker in its 2025 Speaker Series, “A Revolution in Liberty: Lexington and Concord to the First Amendment.”
Kukla will present “Patrick Henry: The Civic Faith of an Enlightened Patriot” at 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 12 in the Bayne Center at Historic Christ Church.
While Patrick Henry never wore a political slogan T-shirt, Kukla suggests if he did it would have read: “Underestimate Me: That Will Be Fun!”—a fitting tribute to one of America’s most fiery and fearless founding fathers. In his talk, Kukla will demonstrate why you cannot understand the American Revolution without Virginia—and why you cannot understand Virginia without Patrick Henry.
