Mathews Memorial Library held its 22nd annual Highland Games on Friday at the Piankatank Ruritan Club in Hudgins. The Kilmarnock Pipe and Drum Band performed for the children, then led them to the field, where the games began. Here, Paulie West is competing in the sheaf toss, trying to throw the burlap bag of hay over the goal post simulating Scottish farmers throwing their bales of hay into their barn’s lofts.
