Hickory Fork Road fire

Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad responded to a structure fire at an unoccupied dwelling early Sunday morning. GVFRS chief J.D. Clements said the home on Hickory Fork Road had been abandoned for several years and had no live electrical lines connected to the building. According to Clements, GVFRS sent three engines, two tankers, one heavy rescue truck and one medic unit with a total of 21 personnel to the scene. Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue responded with mutual aid. The Gloucester Sheriff’s office and VDOT also assisted.
