Herbert Vernon Driver, 62, of Hampton, Virginia, transitioned peacefully in his home on Friday, March 31, 2017. Herbert was married to Arlene (Brooks) Driver, father to Shanna Negron of Hampton, Virginia, and Juanita Driver of Laurel, Maryland; grandfather to Micah Negron; brother to Fred Driver, Jonathan Driver, Kathleen Driver and Randolph Driver. Herbert was a 1972 graduate of Gloucester High School and a devoted employee of Newport News Shipbuilding for more than forty years. Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017, at Bethel Baptist Church, 2978 Hickory Fork Road in Gloucester, with viewing and visitation at 12 noon, followed by services at 1 p.m.
