HERBERT FRANKLIN CHRISCOE SR.

Herbert Franklin Chriscoe Sr. of Gloucester, a native of North Carolina, died at his home, Saturday, June 9, 2012. He was 76.

President of Chriscoe Builders, he had been a prominent business man in our community for 45 years. Herbert was very active in the Gloucester Youth Baseball Association and former Vice President. First and foremost was his family, and hunting with his comrades in the Sweet Hall Hunt Club was a close second.

Parents, Clyde and Ometa Cagle Chriscoe, as well as siblings, Maurice, Velma, Juanita and Clyde preceded him in death.

Survivors include wife, Mary Lee; sons, Herbert Franklin Chriscoe Jr. and wife Honor, Mark Allen Chriscoe, Victor Clyde Chriscoe and wife Rebekkah, Ashley Crafford Chriscoe; grandchildren, Alexandra Lee, Ryan Scott, Mackenzie Leeanne, Sophie Jane and Samuel Ridge; siblings, Bernice, Graham, Gilbert, Colvin, Edna, Marie, Bradley and Judi; faithful pet, Arthur.

Graveside services were held Monday, June 11, 2012, at 2 p.m. in Windsor Garden Cemetery and Mausoleum. The family received friends Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point from 7-8:30 p.m.
