Winfrey Carlton Henry Jr., 25, of Gloucester, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder last Thursday in Gloucester County Circuit Court. This plea follows last February’s homicide of 36-year-old Kayron Tyrone Long of the 8600 block of Back Creek Road in Ware Neck.

As reported at the time of the incident, according to Capt. J.L. Sharp of the GCSO, during the overnight hours of Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, and into the early morning hours of Sunday, Feb. 12, deputies received calls in reference to several related incidents involving two Gloucester County residents.

Suspects engaged the victims multiple times at different locations, he testified, culminating in the home invasion of a residence located in the 8600 block of Back Creek Road. At this scene, armed suspects forced entry into the victims’ occupied home, Sharp said.

This investigation also revealed that Long was missing from the victim’s home at the 8600 block of Back Creek Road.
