John Hendrix, owner/operator of Hendrix Insurance in Gloucester, has been appointed chairman of a statewide lobby group for the insurance industry.

A member of the Farmers Insurance’s Farmers Employees and Agents Political Action Committee for several years, Hendrix was recently named its chairman.

The committee, which represents the employees and agents of the firm, meets quarterly to discuss matters affecting the industry and contributes to political candidates who support their positions.

Among current concerns, Hendrix said, are problems some people face in acquiring homeowners insurance in coastal areas and some commercial insurance issues.

During a recent conference in Williamsburg, Hendrix said he and other insurance agents met with legislators to discuss some insurance and business community topics.
