For Crystal Foster of Gloucester, finding a good cause to support is as easy as opening her front door.

This is because she well known enough in the community that people will leave donations for her to give to those in need. The owner of CC’s Cleaning Company, Foster finds time to run her business, be a mother and help out those in need.

Foster said her desire to help those in need stems from her past struggles. About 16 years ago, Foster was a recently divorced mother who had moved in with her parents right before Christmas. With little means to afford presents for her daughters, they decided that instead they would have a nice family dinner to celebrate.

Foster said that somehow the dinner with her family spiraled into a large community meal at Damon’s Sports Bar and Grill. She said there over 20 volunteers who were able to feed 300 people. Word got out about her situation and she started receiving toys and money from the community.
