Heather Hopkins to sing at local festivals

Heather Hopkins of Mathews, the 12-year-old competitor in the upcoming National All American Miss Pageant, has a number of singing engagements at local festivals.

This past weekend, she performed at the Gloucester Wine Festival. This coming Saturday, she will take the stage with the Crazy X band at the Guinea Jubilee, around 7 p.m. At 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, she will be performing at the Mathews on Main Vintage Market. She also has plans to perform at the West Mathews Civic League Fall Festival on Oct. 26, and the Urbanna Oyster Festival on Nov. 2.

Hopkins, the daughter of Brian and Kimberly Hopkins, placed first in the talent competition and second runner up in Top Model in the Miss Virginia Pre-Teen category of the pageant last month in Reston.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help with expenses related to the upcoming national pageant, which will be held the week of Thanksgiving in Anaheim, California. For more information, visit www.gofundme/f/heather-hopkins-for-all-amer...
