Hearing Tuesday on Timberneck park

The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing Tuesday night on a rezoning that would permit a park to be developed on the Timberneck Farm property at Hayes. The public hearing will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the colonial courthouse. The board’s regular meeting will begin at 6 o’clock.

The proposed rezoning would remove proffers related to the residential development that was previously planned for the site, and instead, allow the property to transition to a park. 

The Gloucester Planning Commission made a recommendation for approval of the rezoning request made by the Conservation Fund, which currently owns the property, during its meeting last month. If the plan is approved, the 650-acre site would be turned over to the state in 2019.
