Hearing tonight on mixed use development at White Marsh

The Gloucester County Planning Commission will hold two public hearings tonight in the colonial courthouse—one concerning a mixed use development at White Marsh and the other about expansion of a marina at Gloucester Point. The meeting begins at 7:30.

Zandler Development Co., LLC, applicant and contract purchaser, is requesting a rezoning to allow construction of 218 residential apartment units, an unspecified amount of commercial development, and construction of a new American Legion building. Entry to the 38.6-acre site is proposed to be where the present American Legion building is located across Route 17 from the entrance to the Gloucester Business Park.

Anne Ducey-Ortiz, director of planning and zoning, said that the project will be built in phases, with the new Legion building being erected early on.
