Hearing next week on zoning for event facilities

The Gloucester County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing about event facilities at 7:30 p.m. next Thursday, Sept. 7, in the colonial courthouse.

The proposed changes to the county’s zoning ordinance would add event facilities as a specifically defined use.

After discussing event facilities for several months, the commission is holding a hearing on making such facilities a by-right use in the General Business (B-1) and Village Business (B-2) districts. Additionally, the commission is considering permitting the facilities with a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) in Bayside Conservation (C-2), Rural Countryside (RC-1), Rural Conservation (RC-2), Suburban Countryside (SC-1), and Rural Business (B-4) districts, chairman Kenneth B. Richardson said.
