The Commonwealth Transportation Board will hold a Six-Year Improvement Program meeting at 6:30 p.m. next Thursday, Oct. 2, at Germanna Community College’s Center for Workforce & Community Education, 10000 Germanna Point Drive, Fredericksburg.

Tina Bundy, a spokesperson for the Virginia Department of Transportation, said the Six-Year Improvement Program allocates funding to a wide range of projects, including roads, bridges, sidewalks, bike paths, rail and transit improvements around the state.

The public meeting will be preceded at 5 p.m. by a local officials’ briefing, a release said, and at 5:30 by open house displays and general discussion.

A series of nine meetings is planned throughout the state during September and October. If you cannot attend a meeting, written comments will be accepted until Oct. 30.
