Hearing next week on rezoning application

The Gloucester County Planning Commission will hold one public hearing for a rezoning during a meeting at 7:30 p.m. next Thursday, Feb. 4, in the colonial courthouse.

The commission will consider an application on behalf of property owners James Bruce and Suzanne E. Woodson, for a parcel on Virginia Drive in the Abingdon Magisterial District.

A public notice said the Woodsons want to amend the Gloucester County zoning map to reclassify approximately 0.53 acre from business (B-1) to single family (SF-1).

The principal purpose of the application, the notice said, is to “resolve an error in the Zoning Map that has established a business zoning for a property used and assessed for residential purposes, allowing it to continue as a conforming use and facilitating a Boundary Line Adjustment (vacation) between this property and an adjacent parcel.”
