HEALY FRANCIS KELLUM

Healy Francis Kellum, 79, of Hayes, died Jan. 17, 2013 at his home.

Healy was a native of Gloucester and lifelong waterman working the surrounding rivers and bays. He was a member of Union Baptist Church, and lived his life for his family and friends.

Healy also enjoyed hunting. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and brother who will be missed and always remembered.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Ruckman; parents, Healy M. and Effie E. Kellum; brother, Edward Kellum, and sister, Dorothy Jenkins.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley R. Kellum; two daughters, Barbara Pauline and Diane Kellum and husband Carlton; four grandchildren, Carlton Kellum Jr., Jeff and Valerie Kellum, and James Lee Hall Jr.; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Faye Hogge and Audrey Belvin; and brother, Bobby Kellum.

Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Bill West were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at Union Baptist Church. Interment followed in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family received friends Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
