Healthy Living Day comes to Woodville Park

The fourth annual Celebrate Healthy Living Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Woodville Park, Hayes.

Organized by the Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck Community Services Board (CSB), this event will include a number of attractions, all related to encouraging a healthy lifestyle.

Celebrate Healthy Living Day, which has experienced rising turnout in recent years, is the result of grants from the Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth and the hard work of CSB organizers. “The main purposes are to promote healthy nutrition and physical activity,” said Cheryl Matteo-Kerney, director of the Prevention Services Division of the CSB.

More than 20 sponsors have signed on to take part in Saturday’s program, with activities including an obstacle course, Virginia Master Gardeners offering free vegetable plants visitors can take home, raffles for prizes, and other attractions.
