Health screenings offered on Main Street this summer

This summer will bring four community health screenings to Mathews from the Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic.

The screenings will be free, and held from 10 a.m. until noon on Main Street, in front of Storybound Construction, on these Saturdays: June 19, July 17, Aug. 21 and Sept. 11.

Clinic staff, assisted by volunteers, will screen for body mass index, blood pressure, and HbA1c, a test used for determining diabetes, a release said.

Health information will be distributed. People without health insurance are encouraged to attend, the release said.

The screenings are made possible by grants from the Mathews Rotary Club and Gloucester Rotary Club. Rotarians will also provide volunteer support.

For more information, call the clinic, 804-210-1368.
