Hazel Virginia Jenkins, age 100, died at her home in Bena on Jan. 12, 2019.
Ms. Hazel was a longtime employee of Plaza Pharmacy. She was a member of Union Baptist Church for more than 65 years. A legacy of her Christian faith, love for all people and positive attitude serves as an extraordinary role model for our future generations.
Husband, Harry Jenkins Sr.; children, Randolph Jenkins, Harry Jenkins Jr., Sheila Jane Griffeth, Alice Virginia Jenkins, Keith Allen Jenkins; grandchildren, Morris Everette Deal Jr., Allen Jenkins, Braxton Randolph Jenkins Jr., Tina Marie Jenkins, Debra Ann Jenkins; parents, John C. Jenkins Sr., Virgie Shackelford Jenkins; siblings, Ruth Williams, Beatrice Horsley, Myrtle Ambrose, Vashti Wilcher, Charles Jenkins Sr., Jack Jenkins, and Cammie Jenkins preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Faye Jenkins Deal; grandchildren, Patricia Ann Greene, Michael Anthony “Mike” Jenkins, Teresa Owens, Harry Campbell Jenkins, Keith Griffeth; 17 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; four great- great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services conducted by Pastor Richard Whiteheart will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019, at Union Baptist Church, Achilles. The family will receive friends from 1-2 o’clock before the service. Interment will follow in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery.
