HAZEL V. HUDGINS

Hazel V. Hudgins, 91, of Gwynn’s Island, went home to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by loved ones on April 10, 2015.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Willis Hudgins; son, Charles Willis Hudgins Jr., and parents, Jack Ingram and Gracie Elizabeth Ingram.

She is survived by one brother, Charles Ingram and wife Jean of Mathews, Va.; three daughters, Dean Jenkins and husband Bill of Colonial Heights, Va., Lillie Joyce and husband Rick of Gloucester, Va., and Willis Ann Ward and husband Allen T. of Cobbs Creek, Va.; seven grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Hazel was an active member of Gwynn’s Island Baptist Church which she loved deeply. She was a loving mother and grandmother and known as “Granny” to many.

The family will be forever grateful to everyone at the Riverside Convalescent Center in Mathews, for the loving care shown to our mother over the last four years and a special thanks to Ruby Ingram who has been there for Mother when we couldn’t be.

A celebration of Hazel’s life was conducted by the Rev. Brian A. Russell and the Rev. Dr. Ed Jordan at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2015, at Gwynn’s Island Baptist Church, Gwynn, Va. Interment followed at Gwynn’s Island Cemetery. The family received friends one hour before.
