HAZEL MAE HUDGINS CARR

Hazel Mae Hudgins Carr, age 80, of Ware Neck, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 28, 2026. While our hearts grieve her earthly absence, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life and take comfort in knowing she now rests in the presence of her Savior.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Coleman and Annie Mae Hudgins, and a brother, Ronnie Hudgins.

Hazel’s family was her greatest earthly blessing, and she poured into them wisdom, grace and unwavering love. She was a close sister to Patsy A. Moore. She was a devoted wife to Richard Carr; a loving mother to Tina Fulcher (Albin), Teressa Carr, Tiffany Carr, and Richie Carr (Gwen), and a proud Memaw to Christina Cox (Doug), Caroline Collins (Dylan), Katelyn Carr, and Lily Carr. She was also a blessed Great-Memaw to Christian Cox, Ryleigh Cox, Ava Cox, and Hazel Collins.

Hazel dedicated many years of her life to serving others as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service. After retirement, she treasured time with her family, tending to her garden, completing puzzles, and playing bingo. Throughout every season of her life, she made friends easily with her kind and giving spirit.

Hazel’s Celebration of Life was a private gathering of close family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Lung Association in her memory.

Though she is deeply missed, we rest in the hope of the resurrection and the joyful reunion promised to all who believe in Jesus, the Son of God, as Savior and Lord (1Thessalonians 4:13-18).
