Hayes resident creates Facebook group to link employers and job hunters

Nicholas Clayborne of Hayes has created a Facebook group dedicated to helping residents of Gloucester and nearby counties find new employment or change careers. The group, called Job Board, has been operating for roughly a month and now has over 1,300 active members.

Clayborne stated that he started Job Board as a way to help members of nearby communities who may be struggling to find employment. He witnessed “some who were struggling economically and decided to take action,” a press release stated.

Not long after the creation of the page, local businesses including Miller’s Septic and Roundy’s Home Improvement began posting openings on the site. This early use of Job Board by local businesses resulted in 900 members joining in the first 24 hours and the scheduling of 10 interviews within that same timeframe.
