Hayes doctor recognized by Marquis Who’s Who

Dr. Femi Obasun, PhD, DBA, of Hayes has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. Individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

For 15 years, Obasun served as the chief financial officer at Havasu Regional Medical Center, during which time he completed coursework in finance from Northcentral University and a PhD.

In 2010, Obasun founded Research Institution LC, where he has since served as emeritus president and chief executive officer. Prior to establishing his nonprofit organization, Obasun owned several businesses and was in the cell phone business with GTE Wireless from the late 1980s through the early 1990s.

For nearly 40 years, he contributed to Sunex Technology as emeritus vice president, a position he still holds, and branched out to shift his focus to health care because he wanted to help others.

In 2023, Obasun earned a Doctor of Health from Liberty University, where he was a member of the Omega Nu Lambda National Honor Society.

Between 2019 and 2022, Obasun conducted four COVID-19 studies and, in 2019, his lab was the first to conduct a positive COVID test. For his work, he was awarded two distinguished scholar awards in 2021, the Distinguished Scholar Award from the American National University and the Distinguished European Scholar Award from The European Community.
