Bryan Hartley, Gloucester County Public Schools’ Director of Operations, was appointed the division’s acting superintendent following a special closed meeting Tuesday night at the T.C. Walker Education Center in a unanimous vote of the Gloucester School Board.
Hartley will serve in the post beginning July 1 and until such time as a new superintendent is hired to replace Dr. Walter R. Clemons, who is retiring effective Saturday.
Hartley has been with the school division since 1997. He previously served as Peasley Middle School principal, Student Services Director at the Central Office and Executive Director of Operations.
The school board will meet tonight, Thursday, June 29, in closed session for the purpose of discussing candidates to fill the superintendent position.
