Margaret Mayes Ann Strawn and Alexander Blaney Harper were married 5 p.m., Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Abingdon Episcopal Church, White Marsh. The Rev. Sven L. vanBarrs officiated. Alisa Bohon, organist, provided the music.
The bride is the daughter of Mark and Rachel Strawn of Gloucester.
The groom is the son of Virginia Harper of Chevy Chase, Maryland, and Blaney and Lynne Harper of Austin, Texas.
The bride was attended by her maids of honor, Alice Strawn and Louise Strawn. Bridesmaids were Grace Amaden, Sarah Barnett, Kelly Fennessy, Abigail Hancock, Heather Hudgins, Liza Moore, Curry Sherard and Sylvia Strawn.
The groom’s best man was Nick Harper and groomsmen were Samuel Strawn, Cole Heisner, Austin Lee, Basil McCoy, Jack Parham, Erik Recke, Harris Salom, and Kevin Tripp.
The wedding reception was held at Ware River Yacht Club, Gloucester.
Following a wedding trip to Charleston, South Carolina, the couple will make their home in Richmond.
