HAROLD H. FENSTERMACHER

Harold H. Fenstermacher passed away on May 17, 2012 in Gloucester, Va.

He was born on August 4, 1919 in Lewisburg, Pa., and was a longtime resident of Gloucester Point, Va. Harold retired from the U.S. Army Air Mobility Laboratory, Ft. Eustis, Va., as a Civil Service employee. He served in both the European and Asiatic Theaters in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII.

He was an avid fisherman. Harold was a member of Achilles Lodge #281, Royal Arch Chapter #59, and Penn Neck Commandery #033. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Harold was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Gloucester Point, and was a former teacher of the Men’s Bible Class.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine J. Fenstermacher, and his only brother, William, who was a casualty of WWII.

Survivors include his two sons, William E. Fenstermacher and his wife Ruth, D. Scott Fenstermacher and his wife Perrien; four grandchildren, Dr. Ashley F. Slagle, Katherine J. Fenstermacher, Phillip C. Fenstermacher, and Douglas P. Fenstermacher.

A graveside service was held at Gloucester Point Cemetery on May 20, 2012 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Art Wolz officiating.
