Harmful waste collection set for April 15

The Gloucester County residential spring 2017 Household Harmful Waste Collection Day will be held from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, at the main landfill convenience center on Waste Management Way, Owl Trap.

This special collection is the best way to rid your home of hazardous items in a way that is safe for your family, community and the environment, Clean Community coordinator René Moring said.

Under the contract Gloucester County has with Waste Management, a special household waste collection is held each spring at the upper county site and each fall at the Guinea Road convenience center in the lower county.

At each collection, Gloucester residents can dispose of automobile hazardous waste like antifreeze, brake and transmission fluids, gasoline and batteries. In addition, they can dispose of painting supplies like paints, thinners, solvents, epoxies and wood preservatives.
