Hardaway to play softball at Bridgewater

Hailey Hardaway, a senior softball player at Gloucester High School, has committed to play at Bridgewater College.

Hardaway has been a starter for the Dukes since her freshman season when she was the starting leftfielder as the Dukes competed in the 2019 state tournament.

After her freshman year, Hardaway moved to her natural position as catcher. As a junior, in a COVID 19-shortened season, Har-daway hit .414 in 12 games with 15 RBIs. She also added three doubles to go along with two home runs. GHS head softball coach Red Lindsay said Hardaway should quickly compete for playing time in the outfield or behind the plate for the Eagles.

Bridgewater is coached by Megan Pleskovic and competes in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. The Eagles ended the 2021 season with an 11-15 record and were 8-8 in the ODAC.
