Mathews families are invited to join staff and volunteers from the Fairfield Foundation on Saturday, March 12, and Friday, March 25, from 2-4 p.m. both days at the Mathews Historical Museum on Main Street to wash artifacts and learn about local archaeology.
The artifact wash days are funded by the Mathews Community Foundation to benefit women and families in activities that support cultural vibrancy in the county, a release from Fairfield stated.
Fairfield visits schools and conducts archaeological work year round, inviting people of all ages to learn about area history.
To register, email Fairfield@fairfieldfoundation.org, and indicate the day or days you plan to attend, and how many people and their ages will take part. Masking is requested.
