Hampton teen charged with convenience store robbery

The Gloucester Sheriff’s Office has charged a Hampton teenager in connection with the Nov. 19 robbery of the Stop and Go convenience store in Gloucester Point.

GSO Capt. John Schick Jr. said Norfolk Police responded to an armed robbery in their city the evening of Nov. 23 and took a juvenile suspect into custody following a vehicle pursuit. 

Subsequently, GSO investigators responded to Norfolk’s incident, Schick said, and conducted follow-up investigations that allowed them to apply for juvenile petitions charging the 17-year-old male with the Gloucester Point robbery. 

In Gloucester, Schick said the 17-year-old is charged with robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, conspiracy to commit a felony, and wearing a mask in certain places, all felonies. He was additionally charged with the misdemeanor of possession of a firearm by a person under 18.
