Hammerheads overcome 3-goal deficit to tie Hotspurs

Spearheaded by a relentless late-game offensive effort, the Baystars U11 Hammerheads responded to a three-goal deficit in the second half to tie the Smithfield Hotspurs, 5-5, in youth soccer action Saturday at Nike Park in Carrollton.Aaron Hines had three goals for the Hammerheads while Ashton Taylor and Drew West had one each. Their goals were complemented by the spirited play and assists of Caden Thompson, Jackson Mandell and Taylor.The Hammerhead defense was anchored by goalies Bryce Fischer and West, with strong efforts by Conner Duval.
