Ham radio event Saturday

Members of the Middle Peninsula Amateur Radio Club will share the story of Captain John Smith’s adventures in 1607 here in Gloucester County with a Special “On-the Air” ham radio event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Abingdon Park. The public is invited to stop by to see amateur radio in action, as the members share the story of Pocahontas and Chief Powhatan, along with information about the development of the state’s newest state park, Machicomoco. Shown here are Will Hrachovina, Barb Ettner and Rob Neece operating in an earlier John Smith event, from left.
