HALLIE BELLE GREEN THOMPSON

Hallie Belle Green Thompson, 79, of Gloucester, received her wings to fly home with the angels to her Lord and Savior’s mansion with family at her side on Oct. 7, 2022. Hallie, a native of Gloucester and one of 13 children, was born on April 30, 1943 to the late Arthur Kellum and Lizellen Kellum.

Hallie enjoyed conversations with her special friend Beth Smith, cooking, gardening, and most of all her rose garden along with multiple flower beds. Hallie had a green thumb that could grow and mature any plant life. Her most celebrated holiday was Christmas; she had a special touch to her nativity scene decorations, infectious smile, and warm laugh. During the past years, she was able to travel to various places such as Mexico, California, Grandfather Mountain, state fairs, and many more; however, she did say there’s nothing like “good old home.” She was the Lord’s servant and believed in her faith. Hallie was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry M. Thompson; grandson, Johnny Travis Horsley, and 11 siblings. Hallie is survived by her three children, Betty (Mike) Horsley, Michael Lee Green (Teresa), and Annette Cottee (Donnie); a large host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Jean Bonniville. The family received friends at Hogg Funeral Home on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022, from 10-10:45 a.m., followed by a chapel service at 11 o’clock conducted by Pastor Richard Whiteheart. Interment followed in Rosewell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family would like to express a special thank you to her caregivers.
