GYF begins regular season

The Gloucester Youth Football and Cheer League started its regular season over the weekend. The Knights’ 8-and-under (U8) team took down the Williamsburg Hornets on Saturday by a score of 13-7. The Mites head coach Damian Broughman said the game’s deciding play came late in fourth quarter when offensive MVP Hunter Banks scored. Broughman gave other nods for offensive contributions to Xavier Broughman, Ayden Harris and Gabe Wolford. The defensive MVP was Kane Barnett who finished the day with five tackles. Other key contributors of defense were Harris, Banks, Leo Collier and Jordan Batley. Cheer According to the GYFCL president Michelle Ailstock, the cheerleaders for the Minis’ game who received most spirited were Madyson Gonzalez and Skylar Smith.
