A slab foundation at Bay Haven Park in Mathews was demolished on Tuesday. The slab was left over from an old house that was previously demolished. County Administrator Ramona Wilson said that removal of the slab was a requirement under the agreement that was made when the property was purchased with FEMA funds. Neighbors of the park, who are organizing in opposition to a recent decision by the Mathews County Board of Supervisors to begin construction of park amenities, expressed concern that work is moving forward in spite of the fact that the decision was made without taking their concerns and objections into consideration.
