Gun, marijuana found in GHS student’s car

An anonymous tip from another student led to drug and gun charges against a 17-year-old Gloucester High School student last week, according to the Gloucester Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said after a school resource officer received the tip on Jan. 20, he immediately investigated and found a handgun and marijuana in the student’s vehicle, which was on school property.

A sheriff’s office spokesman estimated the amount of marijuana found to be about three ounces. The sheriff’s office said the student was taken into custody with charges of possessing a handgun while on school property and possessing marijuana with intent to distribute it pending against him. ...
